Cannabis Growers Get Serious
Every year we hear from an increasing number of outdoor Cannabis growers who are serious about using Garden Mats. Surprised? We aren’t. We suspected something was up for quite a while. We thought customers just didn’t feel comfortable talking about it — with us. But today Cannabis is legal to grow for recreational and medicinal use in fourteen states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, Virginia and Washington, D.C.) and it is now legal for medical marijuana patients to grow in five states (Hawaii, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Rhode Island). Since the word is out, we decided to give it a try ourselves and last year we grew two plants in our test gardens.
We could not believe the results! And now we know what our customers have been saying, or not saying, and why. Growing Cannabis requires really healthy nutrient rich soil and when you use Garden Mats it makes a huge difference. Why? Because your plants don’t compete with weeds for nutrients. The yield was way more than we expected. Our mature plants were 6′ – 7′ tall and were 4-6′ wide. We used Mat #8 and spaced our plants 4′ apart (every other hole). Next time we may space them 6′ apart.
Cannabis is now listed on our Planting Tips page.

Cannabis wrecks your memory. I wouldn’t encourage growing it.
